New Dimensions in Vintage Movies

The original movie is made by Georges Melies - The Mysterious Retort.
The original French title of the colored and shortened print is Alchimiste Parafaragaramus ou la cornue infernale.

Directed & Produced in 1906 by Georges Méliès.

The music is composed, produced, programmed, mixed and played by Gerald Schäfer in 2010.

Smooth Brazilian Funk

A little video, I tried to create with a little recording made during a diner-show in summer 2010, with a quite noisy audience.
I play live on guitar with my own created backingtrack on the soundsystem. It's just a rough mix, but still fun and hopefully pleasant enough to share.

A tribute to the amazing Blaze Starr, The Burlesque Queen of the 1950's.
One of the best burlesque dancers ever and a real legendary and unique star.
Mixed a superb original movie from the 1950's with another part of the live-session, recorded in summer 2010 with the noisy audience.

The Universal Free Form Quartet - Live at Studio Texel 18 - 08 - 2009

The second day we played and recorded spontanious together as a quartet.
It was an amazing experience :
No musicpaper, no rehearsals, no talks, totally improvised, instant composing
4 continents, 4 countries, 4 cultures, 4 souls, 1 spirit, 1 world - A New World !
This recordings combined with other live-recordings of the same week are mixed & released as their latest double-cd 'A New World ' on the Dutch label Luny Music and also available as a special package together with the cd Mayumi Motohashi - 'Live in Europe', recorded in the same week.

The Universal Free Form Quartet are :
